WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE

Walford’s residents have enough horror the rest of the year, so why should Halloween be any different? Jack’s party for the kids starts off happily enough with a game of hide and seek. However, Janet, Amy and Riley sneak out of the house with Dennis. What can possibly go wrong? When Tina fights off men trying to steal her purse, she’s obviously shaken and later hits something in the road. Assuming it’s Dave the cat, she drives off, oblivious that she’s actually hit a child. Honey’s (pictured) world is shattered when she finds Janet being taken away in an ambulance ( Ever noticed how much more quickly they arrive in soapland than they do in real life?). Now that’s what I call a game of hide and seek.

Abi’s transformation into Lady Macbeth gathers pace when she tells Lauren she was in love with Steven and the pair argue over Steven’s ashes. Lauren cares a darn sight more about him as a handful of dust than she did when he was breathing, but then he does make a better ornament than he did a human. Just as the pair make up, Abi makes her shock announcement (see right) – as if we didn’t see that coming. Is the sisters’ relationship now irreparably damaged? Does anyone care?

A rare attempt at levity (make the most of it, it could be years until the next) sees Dennis throw an egg at Sonia but let Will take the blame. Cracking an egg is easier than cracking a smile this week. Nothing new there.
