10 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

David Platt was determined to ruin his sister Sarah’s wedding to Jason Grimshaw, so he sabotaged scaffolding in the builders’ yard (pictured), and Jason plummeted to the ground below, leaving him on crutches for the ceremony.

15 YEARS AGO – EASTENDERS

There was a double death on Albert Square as Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns, pictured) took his wife and son hostage and tried to kill them by setting fire to the house. Little Mo and Sean were rescued, but fireman Tom Banks and Trevor perished.

20 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

Having been evicted from their farm by Frank Tate to make access for a quarry, Jack and Sarah Sugden (pictured) were tested further when Sarah discovered her husband had been having an affair with her friend Rachel Hughes.
