SINS OF THE PAST

When did Billy last deliver a sermon? You can’t help feeling that his obsession with his dodgy past is overshadowing work he should be doing in the here and now. It’s Christmas in a few weeks yet there’s been no mention of a nativity play. Doesn’t he realise mangers are even harder to come by than sprouts as the big day approaches? Refusing to let his anxiety go, he tracks down his partner in crime, Gareth from Stockport, who is none too happy when Billy suggests they tell the police all they can remember about the accident – which, unbeknown to Billy, was fatal. Gareth tells Billy to keep his mouth shut (pictured) or he’ll pay. Something tells me there aren’t many silent nights ahead. When Billy and Todd play Cupid for Adam and Eva, will it prove enough of a distraction, or, having seen Todd’s search history on the computer, is Adam about to drop Billy in it?

Also in emotional turmoil is our Kate, who decides that given her feelings for Rana, she should move with Johnny and Jenny to Spain (like the EastEnders, the people of Weatherfield have never looked at a globe or atlas; Kate seriously needs to look at Lesbos). Zeedan sends the women off to a food fair, but when the van breaks down, will they give in to their feelings? Poor Zeedan is so busy making plans to buy a café he can’t see what’s going on right under his nose. ‘You’re being seriously weird,’ he told Kate on Monday. That’s hardly big news in today’s Weatherfield.
