PICK OF THE DAY
Michael McIntyre’s Big
Show
8.10PM, BBC1
In tonight’s instalment, Michael McIntyre persuades EastEnders star Danny Dyer to submit his mobile phone for a nerve-jangling round of Celebrity Send To All. Also on the bill, there’s stand-up comedy from Russell Kane and music from Clean Bandit, the electronic band who met while at Cambridge University, and have not only topped the charts here, but have even managed the notoriously tricky feat of cracking America. Plus, there’s a show-stealing appearance by Take That’s Gary Barlow (right), who will be performing solo.
Strictly Come Dancing
6.50PM, BBC1
After last weekend’s jaunt to Blackpool, the Strictly tour bus heads back to the studio as the competition really gets into its stride. After they have performed their routines, the seven remaining couples will dance a simultaneous paso doble in the Pasodoblathon. Who will dance their way to the top of the leaderboard?
Joe Orton Laid Bare
9PM, BBC2
Starring Bryan Dick, Antony Sher, Freddie Fox and Jaime Winstone, this impressive
(if explicit) docudrama tells the story of writer Joe Orton – his meteoric rise to fame and his brutal murder, aged 34, at the hands of his lover. Orton’s sister, Leonie, and his friend, actor Kenneth Cranham, are among the contributors.
Casualty
9.10PM, BBC1
Having told Ethan that he’d make a good clinical lead if he applied himself, Connie puts him in charge while she has her first round of chemotherapy. Are Dylan and Elle right to think Ethan is out of his depth? Elsewhere this week, Robyn is shocked when Glen starts a new job – as a hospital porter in the ED.
