10 YEARS AGO EASTENDERS

Jane Beale’s gay brother Christian (played by John Partridge, above) was only supposed to be visiting his family, but he ended up staying for four years. Many of his storylines centred on his relationship with Syed Masood.

15 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

Richard Hillman slipped out of Doreen Heavey’s birthday party in the Rovers and, with the aim of inheriting Emily Bishop’s assets, bashed her over the head with a crowbar. He was interrupted by Maxine Peacock so he killed her, but Emily survived.

20 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

Zak Dingle proposed to Lisa Clegg – and the pair went on to marry (above) and have a daughter, Belle, later that year. They divorced in 2016 when Zak had an affair with their lodger Joanie Wright, but the couple have since reunited.
