FOLLOWING THE MONEY

The Great Train Robbery it wasn’t. Nor The Great Thomas The Tank Engine Heist; but the fallout continues from Aidan’s ‘job’ (odd job, to be precise). And to add fuel to the fire, Mel is back, leaving Phil (below, with Mel) fearful that she’s after The Money (now a character in its own right), which he suspects Ben has taken. The idea that Ben could locate his glasses, let alone mastermind a grand theft, is laughable, especially given that he didn’t even go to Staples to buy a job lot of that complex packaging for The Money. Mick, meanwhile, assures Linda he’ll have the money (as opposed to The Money, which is on the run) to pay Fi. So, as Friday dawns, will a guardian angel come to their rescue and save the day? It’s good to see that the couple have different bedding from that of Kat and Alfie, who went years without once having theirs washed.

Still on the washing theme, Ted threatens to complain to Karen’s boss when she ruins his laundry. I’m still not convinced by the Taylors. Can someone tell them panto season is over?

It’s not a good week for Martin, who’s stunned when Stacey returns in the hope of getting back to ‘normal’ (Seriously? Does she know the meaning of the word?). James Bye (Martin) has played a blinder, and his character’s inability to recover from his hurt is utterly believable. But with Martin’s determination to keep Stacey from her kids, can Sonia make him see sense? I doubt it. She couldn’t keep Bex from pursuing a music career.
