Last Monday saw Penelope Keith and a trio of judges – craft expert Patrick Grant, archaeologist Alex Langlands and garden designer Juliet Sargeant – embarking on a quest to seek out the perfect example of the quintessential British village. Airing as a companion to that daily 3pm show, this first semi-final finds out more about the five winning villages from last week’s heats as they go head to head in a bid to book a place in the grand final, and be in with the chance of winning £10,000 – which will buy an awful lot of hanging baskets.
