The Ice Follies Of 1939 (1939) Touring variety show the

Ice Follies features in this romantic comedy, starring James Stewart as the skater and impresario whose actress wife (Joan Crawford, above) doesn’t quite cut it on the ice.

The Cutting Edge (1992)

A spoiled diva figure skater (Moira Kelly) pairs with a rough-and-ready injured ice hockey star (D.B. Sweeney). The unlikely pair make tracks to the Olympics, and fall in love along the way.

Ice Princess (2005) Disney weaves its twinkly magic in this teen-friendly drama starring Michelle Trachtenbe­rg as a bright student, destined for Harvard, whose aptitude for physics helps her to forge strong scores on the ice. Blades Of Glory (2007) Irreverent comedy in which arch rivals (Will Ferrell and Jon Heder, left) don’t let bad behaviour and a lifetime ban from their beloved sport stop them from competing on the ice. Can they set aside their difference­s long enough to slice their way to glory as partners in a pair skating competitio­n?

I, Tonya (2017) Eagerly anticipate­d black comedy about troubled Olympic skater Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie, right), who clawed her way to the top before scandal struck. In cinemas from February 16.
