Gary Cooper’s older playboy. Fame (1982) Lori Singer starred as bookish cellist Julie Miller in the TV series. Singer is a classical cellist who trained at Juilliard. She also plays cello in the 1993 film Short Cuts, and continues to perform as a soloist – including at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.
