Laurel and Ashley Thomas (pictured) were devastated when their son, Daniel, died in his cot. However, Daniel later turned out not to be theirs – a hospital mix-up meant their real son, Arthur, was being raised by another couple.

15 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

Jason Grimshaw got a shock when his estranged father got in touch. Tony Stewart had walked out on Jason’s mum Eileen and left her to bring up their son alone. Tony convinced Jason to meet him for a drink and they got along well (pictured).

20 YEARS AGO – EASTENDERS

When Susan Rose (pictured), the ex-wife of market inspector Michael, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Michael and their teenage son Matthew became her carers. The couple reunited and moved into Albert Square together.
