A Charles Paris Mystery

11.30AM, RADIO 4 Overexcited one morning by his exwife’s high-visibility cycling outfit, the raddled old actor Charles Paris (Bill Nighy) is thrust from the family home and forced to find his own breakfast. He plumps for a soul food sizzler to get him through a day full of challenges, plots – and death. The producer of the farce that Charles is appearing in has died and Charles, something of an amateur sleuth, finds himself mixed up in some very odd off-stage business. A script crackling with banter and wit – plus a tour de force from Mr Nighy – gives this comedy drama by Simon Brett real class.
