Now this is a strange and fascinating tale indeed. Josef Carl Engressia was born blind in 1949, and had the gift of absolutely perfect pitch. He was fascinated by phones, and discovered that by whistling a note at a particular pitch, he could trigger a switch allowing him to make free phone calls. While at university, Josef sold these free phone calls for a dollar each to other students.
