Finland is bordered by Sweden, Norway and Russia, and Kavita hears how the menacing presence of the old USSR played its part in this little country’s history.

Why I Changed My Mind

Manwar Ali used to be a militant Islamist. He helped to radicalise fellow Muslims, raised funds for jihad and fought in Afghanista­n and Kashmir. Now, he argues against extremism, and tries to save young Muslims from the clutches of ISIS. He tells Dominic Lawson about his change of heart, and how he now seeks to bring peaceful coexistenc­e to a conflict-torn world.

Their act – with Dean as the more laid-back figure, and Jerry milking the lines for laughs – featured on TV, radio, film and the stage. They earned a fortune, but split up and didn’t speak for 20 years, until their mutual friend Frank Sinatra reunited them. Bill Kenwright tells the story.

Black Mirror. In this programme, we hear how Graham Greene, Laurie Lee, George Orwell and A.L. Lloyd worked there during the Second World War, and how Senate House loomed large in their work.
