When Patrick Gale started school, his teacher asked the class to draw a picture of home. Patrick set about the task with gusto, drawing a big building with lots of bars on the many windows. It was only when he looked at the other drawings that he realised his life was a little different from the lives of his classmates. Patrick’s father was the governor of HMP Wandsworth and, in those days, it was normal for the governor and family to live in the prison grounds. Patrick, now a writer and novelist, joins Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad to talk about his early life in institutions.

Re-forming, they released their album Distance Inbetween in 2016, and brought out Move Through The Dawn this summer.
