Muted drama about the dark art of spying and the toll it takes, based on a John le Carre novel. In one of his final roles, Philip Seymour Hoffman (above) is excellent as a weary intelligence officer tasked with finding jihadis in Germany where, post-9/ 11, the atmosphere is tense.
