David Hepworth is a drily funny man with a store of anecdotes about some of the nonsense that goes on in the record industry. You can catch him on this afternoon’s show, talking about his new book, Nothing Is Real, in which he tackles some big subjects from the world of music. Is it all about the drummer? Are band managers misunderstood? Is it appropriate to play Angels at funerals? All will be revealed.
In Tune
5PM, RADIO 3
The five members of the Punch Brothers got together a few years ago, at a low point in all their lives. Careers and relationships hadn’t gone well, so the five lads drowned their sorrows and played some bluegrass music. It sounded so good – and they felt so much better – that they formed a band. Their hits include It’s All Part Of The Plan, Rye Whiskey and Dark Days from The Hunger Games. They’ll give us some of their restorative music in a session on Sean Rafferty’s show.
