8PM, BBC1 There’s just one word to describe Serengeti: Wow!

The BBC has spoilt us over the years with some magnificent natural history series, but this one could top the lot. Don’t expect an ordinary wildlife documentary, though; instead, imagine a live-action Disney film, narrated by the Star Wars actor John Boyega, which follows in stunning detail a colourful cast of characters who make their home on the African savannah. The sights and sounds are extraordinary – although the accompanying orchestral music might not be to everyone’s taste.

The genial architect heads to Leamington Spa to meet Albert and Kristina as they set about revamping their old coach house – and with a baby on the way, the clock is ticking. Then, he takes a trip to Mellor to visit a rather special 200-year-old farmhouse on the edge of the Peak District.

Sarah Payne: The Untold Story

In an upsetting documentary, Susanna Reid hears from Sara Payne about the murder of her eight-year-old daughter, Sarah, in 2000, reflecting on the devastating impact it has had on her family. We also hear from Sarah’s brothers and sister and – for the first time – her grandparents about the lasting legacy of Sarah’s death.

In the third episode of this brilliant adaptation of Joseph Heller’s Second World War novel, Yossarian (Christopher Abbott) is still trying to get out of flying duties – but his latest ruse is to have horrible consequences for our not so heroic bombardier and the rest of his crewmates. Be prepared for a shocking ending.
