MOVIE DOLEMITE IS MY NAME

(2019) 15 u

HHHH Not all of

Netflix’s films deserve to be on the big screen, but this one does.

It’s the story of the real-life rise of comic Rudy Ray Moore, who went from smoky club doldrums to the top of the blaxploitation film wave. He’s played with passion by Eddie Murphy, at the head of a cast that also features an unusual turn from Wesley Snipes. From Friday.

AMAZON PRIME

THE X FILES DRAMA (Seasons 1-11) HHH The entire original run of cases for Scully the sceptic and Mulder the believer, plus the questionable two-season revival. THE DRIVER

DRAMA (All three parts) HHHH An excellent cast, led by David Morrissey, powers this BBC drama about an unhappy cab driver who takes on some shady work on the side. It comes from Danny Brocklehurst, the co-creator of Sky’s Brassic, and a writer of much else besides.

CHUCK

DRAMA (All five seasons) HHH Likeable and funny US action series about a nerd who learns that the secrets of the

COMEDY KEY AND PEELE

Jordan Peele was an Oscarwinning screenwriter for

FLEMING

Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond.

WATCHMEN

MOVIE (2009) 18 s HHH Zack Snyder’s adaptation of Alan Moore’s twisted superhero graphic novel is visually exciting, but tough work for the uninitiated. It’s set in a paranoid alternate 1985, and a new series that’s also based in that world begins on Monday at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
