PICK OF THE DAY
THE ACCIDENT
9PM, CH4 ★★★★
Jack Thorne’s dark new drama explores every parent’s worst nightmare: the death of a child. This four-part series, set in Wales, begins with an explosion that causes a building to collapse – with eight children inside. The incredible Sarah Lancashire plays Polly Bevan (right), who can only watch in horror with her best friends, Angela (Joanna Scanlan) and Greta (Eiry Thomas), as bodies are brought out. Whose child will survive, and who is to blame for this tragic accident? This series is as gut-wrenching as you’d expect, and we’re in for a rough ride in search of justice.
