The work is scored for violin, strings and percussion instruments – including chimes, Chinese blocks and a glockenspiel. Tasmin Little is the violin soloist for this performance with the
BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Susan Calman (6.30pm, Radio 4) sharp halt, and sends Diane into labour. This repeated third series of the comedy drama, set on the edge of Wales and reality, gets off to a cracking start.
SUSAN CALMAN MAKES ME HAPPY
6.30PM, RADIO 4 HHHH It was lovely to see happiness overwhelming Susan Calman on Strictly Come Dancing in
2017. Susan, a stand-up comedian, was good at making other people laugh, but always let shadows cloud her own happiness. Taking to the dance floor in a variety of eye-catching outfits as Kevin Clifton’s partner lifted that anxiety, and filled her with joy. In this series, Susan explores some of the things in life that give her happiness.

7PM, BBC 6 MUSIC HHHH Katy Young and Rosa Slade make up the duo Peggy Sue. Katy and Rosa sing with a bright, strong harmony that gives a real punch to their songs. They’ve got a new album due out in the new year, and will sing tracks from it this evening. SJ
