8PM, CH4 ★★★★ Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty throw open the doors of their Southend Pier cafe for a new series of good food, great chat and celebrity fun and games. Mary Berry (right) is the first guest to take her place in the kitchen as she takes a trip down memory lane, re-creating a seafood feast inspired by her happy family holidays in the West Country. Away from the pier, at RAF Wittering, the boys find themselves on the front line of cooking when they take part in a training exercise with the No 3 Mobile Catering Squadron.

8PM, CH5 ★★★ The likeable comedian returns to reveal more hidden tales behind some famous Scottish locations. This week, she’s in the Cairngorms in the eastern Highlands, where she goes in search of the elusive wildcat, Britain’s rarest mammal. But first, she learns to dance in the Queen’s ballroom at Balmoral.

8.30PM, BBC1 ★★★ The amateur dramatists at the Cornley Drama Society put on a Second World War production, rarely performed because of its historical inaccuracy. But this tale of brave Allied code-breakers is bedevilled by collapsing sets, dodgy French accents, a missing actor and machines with minds of their own.
