To mark the moment, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will be on Lauren’s show to talk about the album and the duo’s greatest hits tour, a celebration of their near 40-year career, which begins in May. Lauren also has details of this spring’s BBC 6 Music Festival. Tickets for the event will go on sale during the show at 10am.

The pianist Glenn Gould, a great exponent of the works of Bach, would hunch over the piano as he played, muttering to himself and totally oblivious to anything but the music. Gould’s quietly intense recording of Keyboard Concerto In E Major, with Vladimir Golschmann conducting the Columbia Symphony Orchestra, is included in this selection of Bach’s works, and, though the orchestra sounds a little over-sweet by contemporary standards, Gould’s performance stands the test of time.
