3PM, RADIO 2 HHHH The food critic, writer and presenter Jay Rayner knows his onions when it comes to music. Jay, who is also a jazz pianist, will be taking to the road again with his one-man show, My Last Supper, later this month – but this afternoon, he looks back to the 1970s, and tells Johnnie Walker about his admiration for the music of Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel.

6.45PM, RADIO 3 HHHH Stanley Bate’s Viola Concerto is a beautiful, emotional and unjustly neglected work. Simon Heffer does his bit to put that right with this look at the troubled life and early death of an English composer of great talent.

Paul Whitehouse joins Claudia Winkleman to talk about all the fun he’s been having with the musical of Only Fools And Horses. Paul wrote the musical with Jim Sullivan, the son of the TV show’s creator, John Sullivan. All the favourite characters are in the show, including Trigger, Marlene and Boycie, with Paul playing Grandad. The musical, which opened in February 2019, now has an extended West End run.
