Wilbur Tennant, a dairy farmer in West Virginia, became alarmed by the state of his cattle. Many had blackened teeth, were bleeding from their eyes, showed signs of being deranged and were dying prematurel­y. Wilbur made videos of his sick herd, dumping the footage on the desk of Rob Bilott, who earned his living defending chemical companies. Tom Heap talks to the Cincinnati lawyer about the chemical pollution scandal that inspired the film Dark Waters, which has just been released at the cinema here.
