This documentary looks back on Harry’s life as he dealt with tragedy at a young age, and struggled to balance his desire for independence with the demands of ‘the Firm’. But it wasn’t all doom and gloom. He found a great sense of pride and purpose with his military career and his subsequent charity work, and, with Meghan, he found love and became a father. Meghan: Where Did It All Go Wrong? follows at 9.30pm.

This new series follows RSPCA trainees as they undergo evaluation ahead of hopefully landing a permanent role with the charity – and the course is in greater demand than places at Oxbridge. Students must meet challenging targets and prove themselves in the field, demonstrating both compassion and resilience.

Travelling west from Manitoba to Saskatchewan, Michael Portillo hears the fascinating story of Grey Owl, a celebrated conservationist who actually hailed from Hastings, in East Sussex. He also learns a great deal more about the region’s indigenous people, and how they thrived and struggled.
