PICK OF THE DAY
THE NEST
9PM, BBC1 ★★★★
This Glasgow-set thriller stars Peaky Blinders’ Sophie Rundle and Line Of Duty’s Martin Compston as Emily and Dan (right), a childless couple whose comfortable lives are tinged with sadness. After a chance encounter with 18-year-old Kaya (Mirren Mack), the couple grasp a desperate, last-ditch chance to have a baby. And for troubled Kaya, who grew up in care, being their surrogate also represents a shot at a new life. It’s emotional stuff, but the tone is full of foreboding, and this has all the hallmarks of being a darkly addictive hit.
SQUEAKY CLEAN: BRITAIN’S FAVOURITE CLEANING PRODUCT
6PM, CH5 ★★★
Kicking off a night on clean living – of the disinfectant kind – this countdown makes for reassuring viewing as we continue the fight against coronavirus. It’s also a good taster for How To Deep
Clean Your Home at 8pm and Filthy Family Swap at 9pm.
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW
8PM, BBC1 ★★★★
Fiona Bruce and the team are in the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire, where not one, but two superb collections of military treasures amaze the experts. There is also a Chinese box that once attracted the attention of Gregory Peck, a rare 12thcentury bronze statuette, and a robotic elephant.
BELGRAVIA
9PM, ITV ★★★★
Anne Trenchard (Tamsin Greig) comes clean to Lady Brockenhurst (Harriet Walter), but that’s about as truthful as it gets in episode two. Everyone seems to lie to everyone else, and caught in the middle is Charles Pope (Jack Bardoe), a prosperous young man who is blissfully unaware of the intrigue that surrounds him. SA
