After 100 years running a corner shop in Sheffield, the Ardern family conclude their time-travelling adventure by exploring how local shops are continuing to thrive in the
21st century. There’s never been more competition, but local shopkeepers are an adaptable bunch, and are coming up with new ways to get you to buy their wares. They are now even using robots to deliver goods to your door, something the younger members of the family are keen to embrace – but dad Dave (right) isn’t so sure.

9PM, BBC1 ★★★ Trying to shake off the news that Omar is still at large – and to take her mind off her dead fiance, Elvis – Georgie (Michelle Keegan) throws herself into work, helping Dr Bahil with her polio inoculation programme at a local hospital. But when the mission goes wrong, Dr Bahil’s life is placed in jeopardy, and Georgie must prove her mettle.

In the final episode, the officers look to the future as they take on new recruits. ‘I think if you get police officers and staff to talk about what it’s like in policing, and it’s warts and all, people come in with their eyes open,’ says Chief Constable Gareth Morgan. If the recruits have watched this series, they will be under no illusion.

A recent poll comparing all the supermarket brands found that Waitrose was Britain’s poshest. This light-hearted documentary tells the Waitrose story, looking at the ingredients that have gone into its rise to the top of the supermarket tree. MIKE MULVIHILL
