PICK OF THE DAY
GROWING UP GIFTED
9PM, BBC2 ★★★★
This concluding episode focuses on the three girls who took part in this project, which follows talented teens from low-income backgrounds. In Tamworth, artist Shakira is pulling herself back up after a difficult year 10. Jada (right) from Birmingham wants to be a paediatrician, and faces her GCSE year with a positive attitude, while Anne-marie in Port Talbot hopes her gift for English literature will help her to leave the shadow of the nearby steelworks.
Will all three achieve the grades they need in order to move on to great things?
THE REPAIR SHOP
8PM, BBC1 ★★★★
The barn is open for business as more beloved keepsakes in need of TLC are brought in by members of the public. A broken stained-glass window is now a jigsaw puzzle, posing a challenge for glass expert Matt Nickels, while upholsterer Hannah Weston Smith tends to a chair that survived great peril in the Second World War.
THE TROUBLE WITH MAGGIE COLE
9PM, ITV ★★★★
Things were looking up for Maggie in last week’s episode as she started to rebuild the bridges burnt down by her incendiary radio interview.
But after a new revelation closer to home, Maggie needs some time out – and it becomes increasingly clear that skeletons lurk in many closets.
THE UNDATEABLES
9PM, CH4 ★★★★
The penultimate part of this heart-warming series catches up with previous participants and finds out how their search for love has progressed. Has Charlotte learned to play it cool? Has Richard found a girl to rival his love of trains? For one of the Undateables, a chance meeting has indeed led to a very happy ending. SA
