GORDON, GINO AND FRED: AMERICAN ROAD TRIP

9PM, ITV ★★★★

The three amigos are back on the road, and this time, they’re ambitiously tackling the US and Mexico. Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’acampo and Fred Sirieix (right), who do love each other deep down, have clambered into an RV for another series of adventures, mishaps and incredible feasts. In this first of four great parts, the boys are in Tijuana, Mexico. They get competitive at the famous open-air market, cook a traditional breakfast, and – slightly terrifyingly – don spandex to put their wrestling skills to the ultimate test.

HOW TO BEAT – FAT

8PM, CH4 ★★★

Do you watch what you eat? The average Brit starts and fails 189 diets in their lifetime, so you’re not alone. This week, the show explores ways to lose weight – and keep it off. Kate Quilton learns why plant-based diets are being used in sport, and Dr Javid Abdelmoneim discovers why men diet best in a team. It’s quite eye-opening.

BORN TO BE DIFFERENT

9PM, CH4 ★★★★

Going it alone in this big world is hard at the best of times, but how are these remarkable disabled young adults coping? Zoe is struggling at university – was it a mistake? Emily, however, is doing amazingly on her hospital shifts, but sadly, there are challenges ahead. Elsewhere, William and Shelbie are still fighting on.

HOSPITAL

9PM, BBC2 ★★★★

We’re back at Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where doctors treat 120 new cases of children with cancer a year. Two-year-old Yeshua has an aggressive tumour in his abdomen, while Edward, who is nine, has a slow-growing brain tumour. Both face uncertain futures, but luckily, they’re in the best hands.
