ABSOLUTELY INDIA: MANCS IN MUMBAI

8PM, ITV ★★★★

This travel series puts family first as it follows the Thomas boys – Corrie’s Ryan Thomas and his younger brothers, Love Island star Scott and fellow actor Adam – plus their dad, Dougie (right) – to India. This is more than just a banter-heavy family road trip (although there is plenty of banter); the boys are there to explore their Indian heritage – Dougie’s dad, Nolan, came to Manchester from Mumbai back in 1947.

At a busy street market near the famous Gol Deval temple, the lads look genuinely shellshocked – and it’s only day one.

THE REPAIR SHOP

8PM, BBC1 ★★★★

As ever, this series features not only remarkable objects, but fascinating back stories. This week, a collector’s prized Edison Opera Phonograph is in need of repair after a run-in with some excited children, and a miner’s lamp burns again decades after saving its owner’s life at the Hook Colliery in Pembrokeshire.

THE GREAT BRITISH SEWING BEE

9PM, BBC1 ★★★★

The 11 remaining sewers face holiday week in high spirits. Palazzo pants are this week’s pattern challenge, featuring tricky invisible zips, while further challenges cover towelling beachwear and tropical shirts. Expect bright colours, big patterns and the odd mismatched motif.

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO CATCH CORONAVIRUS?

9PM, CH4 ★★★★

To help to answer one of the burning questions of the crisis, cameras have been given out across the country to people with Covid-19 – their symptoms varying from the mild to the severe – while experts offer guidance as well as helping with the anxieties that come from fear and isolation. SA
