The star of the missingperson thriller reveals five secrets from the set SAVE ME TOO Wednesday, 9pm, Sky Atlantic

My character Jennifer is the wife of Gideon (Adrian Edmondson), a child sex trafficker. Her world has been turned upside down by the revelations about him. Ade’s performance is truly chilling and, as a matter of necessity, we had lots of laughs between filming scenes.

Suranne Jones (who plays Claire, whose daughter Jody is missing) and I really bonded over cooking. We watched Nigella Lawson clips and I gave her ideas for dinner. There’s a strong bond between the actors – and a very active Whatsapp group. The first day I was on it, I woke to 41 posts!

Some of the most powerful scenes we filmed were in the courtroom for Gideon’s trial. We spent three or four days in there. Most of the characters were in the public gallery while Olive

Gray, who plays young Grace, a victim of abuse, was giving testimony from behind a curtain. 4

I talked a lot about Jennifer’s wardrobe to

Becky Duncan, the costume designer. We went for dresses from Vince, a label based in LA that can be bought here, and stuff from Jigsaw. A lot of what Jennifer wears on top is silk and –thekeyword– elegant. She wants to maintain her dignity.

The show’s creator Lennie James plays Jody’s dad Nelly and he got nervous being driven around by Tom Coombes, who plays his friend Goz. Tom came in for some ribbing because he’d only just passed his driving test. There’s a scene where you see the windscreen wipers suddenly go on for no reason, having been knocked by Tom.
