MARATHON

On the day before the London Marathon was due to be held, the 2019 winner talks about becoming the first runner to go the distance in under two hours – a record he set last October in an experimental event in Vienna. Tomorrow, there’s a chance to relive the first staging of the race in The 1981 London Marathon: A Historical First (2pm, BBC1).
