THIS HOUSE IS FULL OF MUSIC

6PM, BBC1 ★★★★ Ahead of the start of a new run of Imagine films with Alan Yentob, here’s a special one-off, filmed in lockdown. The family home of cellist Sheku Kannehmason (fifth from left) is alive with music. In 2016, Sheku won the BBC Young Musician award, and went on to perform at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He’s just one of seven gifted siblings who, along with their parents and an equally talented house guest, stage an eclectic concert from their Nottingham home. An exquisite insight into a musical family and music’s power to uplift and entertain.

JIMMY’S FOREST

5PM, CH4 ★★★★ Celebrating British rural life and the secrets of our woodlands, Jimmy Doherty charts the seasonal changes as summer arrives. Near his tree house, there’s a large badger sett – and he’s determined to catch sight of its occupants. He also joins a ferreter at work, meets some druids, and has lunch with a Neolithic man.

COUNTRYFILE

7PM, BBC1 ★★★★

Anita Rani and Matt Baker visit the historic Kent woodland known as the Blean, where bison are being introduced as part of a ground-breaking new conservation scheme. At the other end of the animal size scale, Anita follows a breeding programme for dormice, which aims to boost their numbers in the wild.

SPORT’S SUPER SUNDAY

8.30PM, BBC2 ★★★★

This film looks back at a cracking day for sport last summer. On Sunday, July 14, two major finals took place: at Wimbledon, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic met for their third men’s title contest in six years, while at Lord’s, England took on New Zealand in the Cricket World Cup in their first final since 1992.
