The late P.D. James, whose centenary fell earlier this month, wrote crime novels as well as serious nonfiction. Her first book, Cover Her Face, published in 1962, introduced Adam Dalgliesh, the poetry-writing policeman who was to feature in so many of her books. Johny Pitts and Harriet Tyce celebrate the work of P.D. James this afternoon.
