Louis looks back on his more baby-faced youth when, from the late 1990s, he met people on the outskirts for his Weird Weekends series. During lockdown, Louis has reached out to some of the colourful characters he met. In this first episode, focusing on beliefs, Louis revisits people who were convinced that they would soon be at war with the US government, as well as those who were hunting aliens. He also talks to the sisters once known as music duo Prussian Blue, who have since renounced their white nationalist politics.

This week, the boys head to Norfolk for a spot of pike fishing, and are surprised to land a ten-pounder almost straight away. Overnight, they stay at a former public toilet (much nicer than it sounds), while on day two, it’s time to catch a ‘scary pike’, not the easy pickings of the day before.
