7PM, ALIBI ★★★ They don’t allow the dog enough personality in this Canadian copcanine drama. He does have plenty of skills, though – in this seasonending double bill, Rex (real name Diesel vom Burgimwald, left) shows off his knack for finding firearms and sniffing out cancer, and reveals one personal secret – a love of burgers.

Another chance to catch this intriguing drama adapted by Danny Brocklehurst from Mark Billingham’s novels. Myanna Buring is Manchester police detective Helen Weeks (left). She’s pregnant, and returning home – where dark secrets await. The first two parts are showing tonight.
