The residents of Sheffield fought hard to prevent the felling of thousands of healthy trees in their city. Despite their protests, many fine trees were destroyed. After an intense campaign, the tree-felling programme was paused, but terrible and lasting damage had already been done. This docudrama by Frances Byrnes, narrated by Robert Glenister, weaves together poetry, music and interviews about the campaign to save Sheffield’s trees.
