PICK OF THE DAY PILGRIMAGE: THE ROAD TO THE SCOTTISH ISLES
★★★★
Seven famous faces follow in the footsteps of St Columba, a key figure in early British Christianity. Their spiritual journey will take them almost 1,000 miles, from Donegal in Ireland to the Hebridean isle of Iona. Collectively, the pilgrims have diverse faiths, but are all friendly and open-minded. Nick Hewer (front row, left) describes himself as a ‘soul in flux’, while pagan Laurence Llewelyn-bowen (back row, second left) is especially entertaining, embracing the spirit of adventure even if he isn’t exactly dressed for it.
