-

7.30PM, BBC2

In the final episode of the series, Sara Cox is joined by Bastille front man Dan Smith, comedian Catherine Bohart and actors

Colin Salmon and Katy Wix for a relaxed natter about their favourite books, while also reviewing this week’s two book club choices.

The new book pick this week is The Dictator’s Wife by Freya Berry, and the selection from the BBC’S Big Jubilee Read list – celebrating authors from across the Commonwealth – is The Crow Eaters by Pakistani author Bapsi Sidhwa.

8PM, ITV

ITV’S celebrity cooking competition isn’t a patch on Masterchef, but Emma Willis and Tom Allen

(below) are doing their best to keep the series fun. In the third episode, the remaining celebrities take on the food of India as they battle to stay in the competition. It’s a cuisine that requites a deep understanding of spices and flavours – and one that is very

easy to get wrong. As the heat is turned up, one more contestant will be heading home.

8PM, CH4

Liam Charles and Stacey Solomon welcome back the five best teams from last week, who now face two even tougher challenges. First, they must tackle a layered dessert in the form of mini celebration cakes, plus the patisserie classic Les Miserables – and they have just three-and-a-half hours to make 24 perfect and identical items of each pastry. In the second challenge, the teams are tasked with creating a grand decorative confectionery centrepiece (or piece montee, to give it its technical name) using two different flavours of choux buns – producing 80 of each – and following the theme of Greatest Moment In History. So, which team will leave their own indelible mark on the competition?

Wright, meanwhile, is at the Greens’ farm to deal with Sneeze the calf, who has become abitofabully and needs taking down apegortwo. Back at the practice, Peter has to deal with the most overgrown tortoise beak he’s ever seen, while over at Cannon Hall Farm, Julian and Matt are preparing to operate on Tricky Dicky, the feisty donkey who is looking for a forever home.
