SECRET LIFE OF THE SAFARI PARK

From the makers of The Supervet and The Secret Life Of The Zoo, this new six-part series takes us on a behind-the-scenes tour of Knowsley Safari, the longest safari drive in the UK, and home to hundreds of wild animals that roam freely around the park.
The cameras capture the lives of these animals as we also follow the work of the people who care for them. Plus, there’s some amazing – and at times hilarious – dashcam footage captured by visitors. The first episode offers a rare insight into the life of Knowsley’s pride of lions (right), and introduces us to its 200-strong baboon troop, who are notorious for wreaking havoc with visitors’ vehicles.

Back for a new series of sunny crime comes the sleuthing antiques dealer Jean White, played by the show’s co-creator Sally Lindsay (below). In this first episode, Judith and Jeremy have lent their boat to a group of marine biologists. While diving, one of the group discovers a rare gold coin and pockets it, but tragedy soon strikes when he goes into cardiac arrest in the water. Of course, when Jean starts to look into the case, she suspects that the death might not have been an accident after all.

Following on from the drama Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, about one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British history, this documentary pieces together the appalling chain of events that led to hundreds of subpostmasters across the country being accused of theft. Intimate interviews with key protagonists – including Alan Bates himself – and archive from the time tell the story of a scandal whose reverberations are still being felt today. ★
