Southampton swoop for Dutch ace Clasie

SOUTHAMPTON have replaced Morgan Schneiderlin by spending £10.5million on Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie, who has agreed a fiveyear deal at St Mary’s. Schneiderlin joined Manchester United for £24m on Monday. Clasie, 24, said: ‘It’s a big club playing in what I think is the biggest and most important league.’ CRYSTAL PALACE have had a £3m bid for QPR keeper Alex McCarthy rejected. The 25-yearold has a £3.5m release clause and Palace want him to replace Wayne Hennessey, 28, who is expected to join WEST BROMWICH ALBION.
