Pervert’s attack on young woman is caught on CCTV
THIS is the moment a young woman was sexually assaulted on her own doorstep in an attack horrifyingly captured on CCTv.
She was about to open her door after returning from work when the passer-by brazenly walked up the path and grabbed her from behind.
He forced his hands under her coat and pushed her to the ground as she tried to fight him off. Seconds later he fled after his victim’s screams alerted her boyfriend inside the house, who ran to her aid. The woman, who is in her twenties, spoke of her ordeal yesterday.
She said: ‘It was Monday night and I was just coming home from work. I walk that route every day. I got the keys in the door, and all of sudden he was there.
‘I wasn’t aware he was there until he put his hands on me. I was so afraid. That’s all that was going through my head.’ After the man fled, her boyfriend helped her into their home in Clapham, South London.
Footage from a security camera in the porch shows the man walking past the woman’s house as she hunts for her keys, before retracing his steps and forcing himself on her.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said commuters were returning home from work, increasing the risk that the man would be seen. She told Mailonline: ‘It was eight at night, there were people walking home and it was busy.
‘I have lived on that road for more than five years and I have never felt unsafe there before.
‘I’m just hoping this video will mean he can be caught and won’t get away with it. I don’t want this man doing it to anyone else. It just isn’t acceptable.’
Her attacker appears to be white, slim, with dark hair and in his twenties or early thirties.
Last night Scotland Yard said a man was being held at a South London police station after being arrested in connection with three assaults in the area.
