As Peter waltzes off did Anton really say his dance was awful?

He became the focus of claims the show was fixed when the Strictly judges voted to keep him in last week.

But Peter andre’s luck ran out last night when he found himself in the dance-off again and was booted off the show.

The 42-year- old singer had been an early favourite to win this year’s contest thanks to his dancing background, but faltered as the competition got tougher.

His american smooth routine with partner Janette manrara failed to impress on Saturday’s show, and the couple were awarded just 31 points by the judges.

and it appeared they weren’t the only ones who felt andre’s footwork wasn’t up to scratch.

after the show, eagle- eyed viewers pointed out that anton du Beke appeared to mouth the word ‘awful’ as andre finished his routine.

He was caught on camera mid-sentence while talking to partner Katie derham apparently voicing his disdain, before suddenly breaking into a rousing cheer.

one fan posted on Twitter: ‘anyone else see anton say Peter andre was awful!! #unprofessional.’

another added: ‘You need to let anton know we all saw him mouth “awful” to his partner … what a liberty.’

However a Strictly source last night said: ‘That is purely speculation, he cheered for Peter and Janette.’

andre and miss manrara faced eastenders actress Kellie Bright and her partner Kevin Clifton in the dance-off.

Former contestant Jamelia, beaten by andre the previous week, was accused of sour grapes when she claimed shots of the audience’s standing ovation were edited to make her rival look more pop- ular. after the outcry that claim provoked, it was decided the judges must explain their reasons for not saving a contestant.

Last night all four agreed andre should go because miss Bright gave a ‘technically more assured performance.’

Jamelia’s accusation followed claims from professional dancer ola Jordan that the Strictly judges deliberately ‘ over- marked and under-marked’ to keep in the favourites.

The claims were denied by the BBC and head judge Len Goodman. mrs Jordan, 33, did not appear on the latest shows while bosses decided what to do.

andre has dismissed the fixing claims as ‘a load of rubbish.’ He told the Sunday mirror Jamelia’s comments had been ‘quite misguided’, adding: ‘This is a fun show. This isn’t how it should be.’

Next weekend will see the six remaining couples compete in the musicals-themed quarter final.
