Ripper ‘changing name to avoid grave vandalism’

-

YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe plans to change his name to prevent people from finding and desecrating his grave, it was reported.

The 69-year-old, who murdered 13 women and attempted to kill seven others during a six-year reign of terror, is serving 20 life sentences in Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire.

Sutcliffe, pictured, is said to have told a friend he will change his name to one of his German forebears.

‘When you’re dead you can be buried anywhere. I don’t want anyone to know where I am and that will confuse people,’ The Sun reported him saying.

‘I might change it to one of my ancestors – that would be legal.’

Sutcliffe suffered a suspected heart attack last year and was thought to be ‘on the brink of death’.

He is expected to die in custody after his 2010 appeal against his whole life tariff failed.
