So much for Labour decrying stunts!
IN AN interview in the Left-wing New Statesman, John McDonnell ruled out PR stunts. ‘We will be more sophisticated in the way that we communicate,’ he said. Hours after the magazine appeared, he was wielding a copy of Mao’s Little Red Book in the Autumn Statement debate. So much for sophisticated messaging. Curiously, the footage of McDonnell with Mao’s book is absent from the official Labour Party video of his speech. It has been removed by Labour’s censors — a move that could have come straight from Chairman Mao himself.
