Cranswick flying
SHARES in pork producer Cranswick jumped nearly 6pc after it reported a boost in sales.
The sausage and bacon supplier said its revenues rose to £529.1m in the six months to September 30, up from £481.5m on the same period last year.
Sales to the Far East were particularly strong, rising 17pc, with nearly 1,000 tons of Cranswick’s products shipped there each week – more than half of all British pig meat exports. But fresh pork sales in the UK fell 10pc year-on-year. Adjusted profits before tax increased 22pc to £31.5m.
Shares closed 97p up at 1797p.
