Did Hitler have a humiliating little secret in his lederhosen?
HITLER suffered from an embarrassing condition that may have left him with a tiny deformed penis, a book claims.
Two British authors say the Fuhrer had hypospadias, which may have given him an abnormally small manhood.
The condition is so severe that sufferers are forced to urinate through a hole on the side of the penis rather than at the tip.
The revelations come after medical records last year revealed that the Nazi dictator really did only have one testicle – immortalised in the 1939 playground rhyme.
In their book, Hitler’s Last Day: Minute by Minute, historians Jonathan Mayo and Emma Craigie write: ‘ Hitler himself is believed to have had two forms of genital abnormality: an undescended testicle and a rare condition called penile hypospadias in which the urethra opens on the underside of the penis.’
The deformation could also explain Hitler’s fear of being naked as well as allegations that he was asexual. It might also account for his deep-seated fury. However, it is thought the tyrant still managed to have a sexual relationship with his mistress Eva Braun. His personal doctor Theodor Morell, a qualified urologist, is also believed to have noted Hitler’s hypospadias. Miss Craigie, 53, said: ‘There are theories that that’s what he suffered from – he certainly seemed to have some genital issues.’
Hypospadias affects around one in 300 boys in Britain, according to the NHS. As well as the physical appearance of the penis, it can also mean that men with the condition are not able to urinate standing up.
Miss Craigie, an author and teacher from Somerset, said that research had also revealed Hitler injected himself with bovine testosterone to boost his virility.
She added: ‘His relationships with women were very strange. Every woman he was involved with seemed to have attempted or if not successfully committed suicide.
‘He was deeply narcissistic and unable to have warm, giving relationships but he does seem to have had a sexual relationship with Eva Braun.’ Describing his fear of being naked, Miss Craigie said: ‘He didn’t like to be seen without being fully dressed.
‘He was very controlling over his image. If he did have this condition he would have been sensitive.’ Hitler married Eva Braun hours before committing suicide in April 1945 but it was only after the war that the relationship became public knowledge.
A medical record from 1923, reported in German media last year, confirmed speculation that he only had one testicle. The doctor’s notes showed that he suffered from ‘right-side cryptorchidism’ – which meant that his right testicle never dropped.
