IN TONIGHT’S new episode, Sky’s comedy drama adds to its long list of unlikely guest stars — Neil Kinnock, Keith Chegwin, Debbie McGee — with Robert Plant. Also, Paula is back for Daddy’s funeral, and she brings a welcome injection of edge into the show — this includes a reality check for Stella, whose eye has been wandering from Michael to her ex, Rob.

CRIME-SOLVING COUPLE

Castle, 9pm, Alibi

THE author and the detective investigat­e a murder on a cruise liner, but the meat of this new episode is Castle’s (Nathan Fillion) attempt to crack into Beckett’s secret life. As the story unfolds, there’s a really fun scene in which each of them realises what the other is up to, but they can’t let on — and have to bluff their way through.

WARTIME DRAMA

Home Fires, 9pm, ITV Encore

THE start of a repeat for ITV’s engaging series about members of the Women’s Institute during World War II. Samantha Bond and Francesca Annis are among the excellent cast, and series two is on the way.

SUPERNATUR­AL TALE Midwinter Of The Spirit, 10pm, ITV Encore

A REPEAT for ITV’s spooky drama from last autumn, with Anna Maxwell Martin (pictured) as Merrily Watkins, widowed vicar, mother to a teenage daughter — and exorcist. There are some sharp, convincing scares in a three-parter that builds nicely and deserves a follow-up.

COMEDY CHARACTER Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters, 10pm, Sky Atlantic

ALAN tries to innovate with a radio book club as the new series continues, butut it ends badly — with him drunk — after the DJ realises that everyone in the room is smarter than he is. Booze is a bit of a theme here, as Alan is moved to tears by a chat with old foe Dave Clifton (Phil Cornwell, pictured with Steve Coogan) about his alcoholism.

TENNIS Mexican Open, 10pm, Sky Sports 3

DEFENDING champion David Ferrer is joined by Kei Nishikori and Marin Cilic on Acapulco’s hard courts. This ATP 500 event is a popular warm-up for the Indian Wells Masters.

HORROR FLICK Unfriended, 12.05am, Sky Premiere

A HOST of Japanese horrors provide the template for this soso cautionary tale with a social media theme, filmed in ‘found footage’ style. Shelley Hennig is one of the classmates being stalked online by a pal who committed suicide a year earlier.
