Diana? She was crazy, but I would have slept with her

Revealed: Trump’s crass claims about princess just months after her death

- From Daniel Bates in New York

DONALD trump bragged that he could have slept with Princess Diana in a tasteless interview only months after she was killed in a car crash in 1997.

the leading Republican Presidential candidate agreed that he could have ‘nailed’ the princess.

In the newly unearthed interview he also talked about her ‘magnificent skin’ and said the only drawback with Diana was that she was ‘crazy’.

trump’s attitudes to women have become an issue for him during his Presidential campaign. He has called those he does not like ‘fat pigs’, ‘dogs’ and ‘slobs’.

Despite this, he has won three of the four Republican Primary elections and leads the polls nationally.

His remarks about Princess Diana were revealed in an extensive compilation of sexist remarks he has made over the years put together by website Buzzfeed.

speaking to us radio DJ Howard stern, trump – who has been married three times – said he thought Diana was ‘actually really beautiful’.

trump, 69, seemed unconcerned by the fact that it had been only months since her death in a Paris car crash.

the billionaire real estate mogul said: ‘I thought she was supermodel beautiful. Lady Di had supermodel beauty. she had times when she didn’t look great, she had times when she looked better than anybody in the world.’

stern asked: ‘Why do people think it’s egotistical of you to say you could’ve gotten with Lady Di? You could’ve gotten her, right? You could’ve nailed her.’ trump replied: ‘I think I could have.’ He

‘Truly a woman of

great beauty’

said that he had once done Diana a favour – he declined to say what – and sent her some flowers, and that she responded by writing him a letter.

A different account of trump’s interest in Diana has been put forward by broadcaster selina scott, who has claimed that trump ‘ bombarded’ the princess with flowers at Kensington Palace.

Miss scott has said: ‘trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife. As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if trump was stalking her.’

In a different interview in 2000, trump returned to his affection for Diana and put her third on his list of women he wanted to sleep with below his future wife Melania at number one and his first wife Ivana in second place.

In his interview with stern, the DJ said to him: ‘I never get this thing with Lady Di.’ trump replied: ‘I think she’s magnificent. Lady Di was truly a woman of great beauty.’

stern asked: ‘Would you have slept with her?’ trump replied: ‘Without even hesitation. she had the height, she had the beauty, she had the skin – the whole thing... she was crazy, but these are minor details.’

During other conversations with stern in the 1990s and 2000s trump often rated women out of ten. In one interview he said: ‘ A person who is very flatchested is very hard to be a ten.’

Of Angelina Jolie, he said: ‘I never thought she was good looking. I don’t think she’s got good skin. I don’t think she’s got a great face. I think her lips are too big, to be honest with you, they look like too big.’

trump’s most public clash with a woman on the campaign trail has been with Fox News presenter Megyn Kelly who challenged him on his sexism in the first Republican Presidential debate. trump later called her a ‘bimbo’ and a ‘lightweight’ and boycotted the next debate she was moderating.

After reading a critical article by New York times writer Gail Collins, trump sent her a copy of the paper and circled her face, under which he wrote: ‘the Face of A Dog!’

trump’s problems with women have extended to his own marriages. According to Lost tycoon, a book by Newsweek reporter Harry Hurt III, trump once raped his first wife Ivana during a ‘violent assault’ that left her in tears. When the allegations resurfaced last year Ivana said that she and trump are ‘the best of friends’ and the alleged rape was not in a ‘criminal sense’.

Last night no spokesman for trump was available for comment on his history of controversial anti-women comments.
