NOT JUST A... HAIRDRYER

UNEXPECTED USES FOR EVERYDAY ITEMS

-

CUSTOM-FIT YOUR SPECS

WARMING up the arms of glasses or sunglasses with a hairdryer will allow you to very gently bend them into shape for a better fit.

REMOVE CANDLE WAX

DON’T scratch your wooden table or granite worktop trying to scrape away hardened candle wax. Warm up the wax using your hairdryer, then wipe clean with kitchen roll.

GLOSSY CAKE ICING

GIVE butter-iced cakes a professional finish by standing around a foot away from an iced cake and giving it a blast of warm air with your hairdryer. The icing will melt slightly, then solidify to a beautiful shine.

BREAK IN NEW SHOES

IF YOUR new shoes are too tight, put on a pair of thick socks and squeeze your feet into them. Holding the hairdryer at least 12 cm from the shoe, heat up the tight areas, flexing your feet and toes as you do so.

Keep the shoes on until they cool down, then check the fit without the socks. Repeat if necessary.
